mTrak vehicle tracking system | Network Text for other networks
This page is for users on networks other than the O2, Vodafone, Orange or T-mobile.
If you are using one of those you need to find:-
The Access Point Name (APN) for the network
The username and password used with the APN. On many networks, these are not needed.
The short code, normally starting * and ending #, that finds the credit. Not all networks have this code. It is only used to put the credit on texts and on the web and leaving it out doesn't affect anything else.
By default, when the Network text is received, the mTrak unit will test the internet connection and text back. If you want to skip this step, add "N" after a comma.
On firmware 3.511 onwards, the GPS baud rate has to be set here. If a 9600 baud GPS is fitted, add a "9" after a comma.
The text is Network APN,username, password,[credit code],[response],[baud rate]
As an example, Giffgaff has an APN of 'giffgaff.com' and the username and password are 'giffgaff' and 'password'. The short code to find the credit is *100#.
So the text is Network giffgaff.com,giffgaff,password,*100#,
If the username or password are not needed, the commas are still required.
