giffgaff

giffgaff are an MNVO ( Mobile Virtual Network Operator) that have proved to be very good value when used in mTrak units, including the older, grey units. However, giffgaff are slightly weird.

You can't get giffgaff SIMs in shops, only by post. They don't work when they arrive, and they have to be activated. You have to have an account with giffgaff to have a giffgaff SIM activated, and you can only have one giffgaff SIM for each account. If you have several vehicles tracked with mTrak, and you want to put them on giffgaff, you need to set an account for each vehicle.

The easiest way to get a SIM card to use in an mTrak unit is to give us a call. We will give you the activation code for one of the giffgaff SIMs. You go onto the giffgaff website and activate the SIM that we have. You need to pay giffgaff £10 to do that. For use in an mTrak unit, do not buy one of their "goodybags". Just buy credit, which is right at the bottom of the screen, and the icon is like this.

When the giffgaff SIM is activated, we will set the SIM card up for use on your mTrak unit, and post it to you. All you have to do is put the SIM into the mTrak unit.
